Shank 'n' Rank
An idle clicker where you shank a prison inmate to earn cash and unlock upgrades. Built as a fun project based on a friend, this game doesn't take itself too seriously but still offers plenty of content.
Overview
Shank 'n' Rank is an idle clicker inspired by a real-life friend's antics, where you repeatedly shank an inmate to earn cash. Tap to shank, upgrade your shanks, and unlock new tiers of progression while customizing your character and activating power-ups to boost your earnings.
Gameplay Features
- Shanking for Cash
Tap the inmate to shank him and earn money.
- Shop System
Buy upgrades like sharper shanks, better durability, and auto-shanks to boost income over time.
- Tiered Progression
Unlock higher upgrade tiers by purchasing enough from the previous ones.
- Creatine Powerup
Grab the creatine tub when it appears for a timed 2x multiplier on all shanks.
- Outfit Store
Customize the inmate with hats, hair, glasses, and shirts for extra flair.
- Achievements & Progress Tracking
Unlock achievements and check stats like total shanks, time played, and items bought.

- Engine: Unity
- Assets: All 2D pixel art assets created by me. The music/audio was sourced externally.
What I Learned
While created mostly as a joke, this game helped me better understand some of the ins and outs of 2D game development, UI design for mobile, and optimizing touch interactions. It was also a great exercise in balancing idle mechanics, and progression pacing in a short timeframe.
